It is very important for you to protect your cast stone and pottery fountains, birdbaths, planters and statuary from the freeze-thaw cycle during the winter months. Ideally, cast stone and pottery decor that can collect water, should not be left outside when temperatures dip down to freezing. They should be stored indoors or in a dry protected place such as a covered porch or garage that is away from the elements. This is not always possible, so it is recommended that you completely dry out your decor and add a waterproof cover. This is because any cast stone or pottery component that can hold water and freeze has the potential to crack and crumble. Components such as fountain pedestals which remain in a basin/pool can also crack or crumble.

Can I purchase individual birds for this model? Also, is there any other options for the spout other than the pipes? Thanks

The long beach fountain is made in a mold and does not come with any additional concrete birds. The spouts as shown are the only available option for this feature.
Does it include uplights?

No but we can help you with lighting when ordering.
How deep is the water containment area?

The height of the bottom basin/ trough is 20.75"H.
How long would it take for two men to assemble this fountain? Rather than move such a heavy container to the site of placement, can the container be opened and moved piece by piece by two men? How much is cost of delivery of two fountains to Oakton, VA? How soon would we receive them?

Assembly would be very easy. The only thing that needs to be assembled is the pump kit. The fountain itself is all one piece. The Long Beach takes approximately 2 weeks for production. Transit is only a couple of days to VA. We offer free shipping and no sales tax.
Can I apply mosaic and border tile to the surfaces of this fountain?

Yes, you can adhere a mosaic and border tile to the surface of the fountain.
Is this designed to be free-standing or does it require being mounted to solid wall?

This fountain is freestanding and is not mounted to a wall.
