NSI Slate – This fountain contains NSI slate, which is thinner than regular slate. This makes the fountain less heavy and easier to hang. This slate is indistinguishable from thick slate. All the beauty is retained and the weight is reduced by over 90%.

The fountain comes in several frame finishes: Copper Patina (copper frame with clear powder coat); Coppervein (aluminum frame with copper vein powder coat); Stainless (Stainless frame) and Black (aluminum frame with black powder coat).

How does it sound? Can you adjust the sound of the water?

It is a beautiful trickling sound. If you want to magnify the water sound, you put a little less water in the basin(but keeping the pump completely submerged) which allows for the water to fall further, making the trickling sounds more noticeable.
How often do you have to refill the water? Also-- do you have to use distilled water?

Distilled water is recommended. How often you have to refill the water depends on the room temperature, humidity, whether it is in the sun or not etc. You will have a good idea after owning the feature for a couple of weeks on how often it will need to be refilled.
